The weekend’s racing commenced with Super Production. It was good to see an entry
of 33, the largest since 2017. The racing commenced with 1 minute qualifying, Gavin
Wills took top spot with a 6.080 second lap, ahead of Josh Bryant on 6.132, Dave
Stevenson 6.327 and Simon Scott 6.393. The record for this class is 5.950 sec set
by James Cleave in 2022. The qualifying seeded the drivers into 8 x 3 minute segmented
finals. The D final had 9 drivers, the remaining finals had 8 drivers.
The close
D final was won by Steve Rhodes on 183 laps followed by Nick Cunningham on 182, Ralph
West 181 and Steve Pratt 180.
The even closer C final was won by Keith Gibson on
193 with David Farrow on the same lap and Ant Hawkes on 192.
Barry Gilzeam won the B on 198 from Elliot O’Gorman on 196 and Steve Sargent on 195.
The
A final produced the largest winning margin, Josh Bryant retaining his super production
title on 218, some 4 laps up on Gavin Wills with Dave Stevenson 3rd (and top main
grade driver) on 213.
Richard Beamish was the top clubman driver with a Hawk/Eagle powered car.
Super Wasp
powered cars took the top 11 places, while the less powerful Hawk and Eagle powered
cars took most of the remaining placings.

B Final
A final
Josh’s winning car was the same one he used to win last year, apparently he hadn’t even trued the com since last year!
It used a JK X32 chassis.
Parts wich had changed since last year were the 7:39 (72 pitch) gears, Alpha tyres and a Mack Glickenhaus body
He went 3 laps faster than last year but didn’t beat the 225 lap record set by James Cleave in 2022.
