Pontins 1/32nd and 1/24th BOCs - 25th/26th/27th July 2008

Pontins Holiday Camp at Blackpool brought back, for some, memories of family holidays of the 50s and 60s and many would say that not much has changed in those 50 or so years. Despite being very tired looking with basic facilities, it actually provided an almost ideal venue for an event like this. The track was set up on Friday afternoon by the Fylde lads in an ideally sized room with plenty of pit space. Most of the drivers arrived on Friday evening and after checking in they found the accomadation was only a couple of minutes walk to the track room. With the 'Canteen' also a couple of minutes walk away and most importantly the bar in the same building as the track, what more could you ask for ? Maybe a towel in the room (don't forget to check the small print next time) !!

A few general pictures below should give you a flavour of the event (hover over for a brief description). Many thanks must go to Steve and Janet Sargent for the concept and organisation, and to the Fylde members for the track setup. Also our Race controllers - Andy Brown Searle on Saturday and Kev Gray on Sunday. Individual reports can be found on the subsequent pages.
