Production Saloon qualifying was the same as the 1/32 format i.e. totals laps covered in 1 minute. This took place on Saturday evening after the 1/32 Sports final. Paul Harwood and Michael Ovens did not enter the 24th races, and Kev Gray took over Race Control and Andy Brown-Searle raced. Pat Skene arrived very early on Sunday morning and qualified then. This conveniently left 16 drivers to contest the BOC, but meant that those not racing had to marshall, so little time to fix cars between races. Four drivers beat 9 laps in qualifying, Graeme Stephenson 9.61 top qualified and Martin Ellis 9.37, Paul Shepherd 9.23 and Ross Grogan 9.08 were the others to top 9 laps. Neil Grogan, Steve Sargent, Franz Barillaro and Dave Coward were all in the high 8s and made up the A final.
The story of the B race was Woody powering into an early lead, never to be troubled and running out a comfortable winner posting a total of 239.62 laps for the A final boys to chase. David Sargent (229.70) ran a good race 10 laps back on Woody and comfortably in front of monumental battle for 3rd place between Matt Siddall (218.73), Pat Skene (217.62), Stephen Siddall (214.07) and Chas Keeling (212.60). Six laps only covering these four at the finish.
Woody's B total of 239.62 proved a hard one to chase in the A race with only Graeme Stephenson and Paul Shepherd having any chance of catching him. When it came to the last segment it proved just too much, and so Woody's B total saw him the overall winner, Graeme finishing up second on 238.67 and Shep third with 236.89. David Sargent's total was enough for 4th place and to beat his Dad into 5th place by 5 laps.
