Qualifying again was the fastest lap in 1 minute and Michael Ovens repeated his F1 'TQ' by posting the only lap under 5 seconds with a 4.884. The next 4 drivers were all in the 5.0s, Martin Ellis 5.054, Stephen Siddall 5.077, Paul Shepherd 5.094 and Ross Grogan 5.095. These were joined in the A race by Ben Woodward, Graeme Stephenson and Paul Harwood.
In the B, Graham Woodward (what were you doing in 'our' race Woody ?) and Franz Barillaro had a 'battle royal' at the front for 1st and 2nd places, and behind, David Sargent and Kev Gray were virtually together all the way until Kev had a lead wire off on orange lane and lost him nearly the whole segment. Woody (233.08) clung on to beat Franz (232.87) by just 21 feet and David finished 3rd with 229.22.
The A race was a Shep benefit, comfortably leading most of the way from Paul Harwood. Shep finished with 254.63 7 laps+ ahead of Paul Harwood (247.16). Stephen Siddall (246.13)pushed Paul Harwood all the way for a good 3rd place only just over a lap down. These three all beat Woody's B race total to take the top 3 spots overall, with Woody 4th and Franz 5th and the only other A finalist to have a clean race was Ben who finished just behind Dad in 6th. The other drivers in the A race all had problems and comprised the bottom 4 places overall.
